Tony Kemp went 3-5 with 2 doubles and a homer.

Kemp doubled on the third pitch of the game, he started the at-bat by taking an up and away 4-seamer and then fouling off a sinker down the heart of the plate. In a 1-1 count, Kemp got a middle middle slider that he pulled down the first base line for his first double of the game.

Kemp got a little lucky in his second at-bat, he skyed a first pitch sinker into right field, Royals outfielder Edward Olivares lost the ball in the sun and the ball dropped right over his head. The hit had only a .020 xBA.

Kemp hit a homer in his fifth at-bat of the game, he started off the at-bat by fouling off a center cut slider. Then taking a changeup off the plate and a 4-seamer above the zone for balls. He fouled off another center cut slider and fouled off a 4-seamer in the zone. On the sixth pitch of the at-bat Kemp turned on a belt high slider on the inside black of the plate and hit it 362 feet into the right field stands.

Not much has gone right for Tony Kemp offensively this year, he is in the bottom 4% of the league in xBA, bottom 1% in Hard Hit%, and bottom 2% in xwOBA. Although, he has maintained his top tier bat to ball skills, being in the top 12% of the league in K% and top 5% of the league in whiff%.
