Rowdy Tellez got revenge against his former team hitting 2 bombs.
In his first at-bat against Jose Berrios, Tellez got the Brewers run scoring started. He took a fastball in the zone for a strike, then took a changeup in the dirt. In a 1-1 count, Tellez got a 4-seamer at the top of the zone that he squared up and hit 410 feet to center field for his first homer of the game.
Tellez got another at-bat against Berrios in the second inning, he started the AB by taking a curveball down and in for a strike. Berrios then left a curveball hanging belt high, and Tellez hit a sharp line drive out to right field for his second two-run homer of the game.
Tellez got ahold of two pitches up in the zone that he was able to drive out of the ballpark. He has an xSLG of .591 against 4-seamers this year, and has a .488 SLG against curveballs. Tellez has become much more patient at the plate this season, he has a career best BB%, whiff%, and chase%. He also has the lowest first pitch swing% of his career and the lowest zone swing% of his career. Since becoming more selective at the plate, he has raised his launch angle to a career high allowing his high exit velocities to travel over the fence.
