Brendan Rodgers went 4-5 with 3 extra base hits, 2 doubles and a triple.
In Rodgers first at-bat against Marlins starter Braxton Garrett, he pulled a first pitch curveball down the left field line and cruised into second standing up.
In his second at-bat, Garrett stayed away from the curveball giving Rodgers a mix of 4-seamers and sliders. Rodgers watched a fastball off the plate and then a slider in the dirt, he then got back to back elevated 4-seamers which he fouled away. In a 2-2 count Rodgers got a slider inside which he fought off, then on the sixth pitch of the at-bat he got a slider which ended up middle middle. Rodgers hit it 102.3 mph over the center fielders head for his second double of the game.
Rodgers fourth at-bat of the game was against Marlins reliever Anthony Bass. Rodgers fouled off a slider and then watched a sinker in the dirt. In a 1-1 count Bass left a slider belt high and Rodgers once again hit it over the head of the center fielder but this time he ended up on third.
Rodgers fifth at-bat was against Tanner Scott, he started off the at-bat by whiffing at a slider. He watched another slider in the dirt and a fastball up above the zone. Then in a 2-1 count he got another belt high slider, this one he took the other way into right field for a single.
