The Atlanta Braves traded Touki Toussaint to the Angels in exchange for Cash Considerations.
The former 2014 first round pick by the Diamondbacks was originally traded to the Braves in 2015 alongside Bronson Arroyo in exchange for Phil Gosselin. Toussaint who has a career 4.88 xFIP, had his best season in 2018, where he posted career bests in xERA, FIP, and xFIP. The righty features a 4-seamer, sinker, curveball, and splitter. Statistically his splitter is his best pitch, it has a run value of -2.2, -1.5, and -2.4 RV/100 in 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively. The Angels look to salvage any bit of promise that the righty showed as a former first round pick, in a good low risk high reward transaction.
The Braves designated Toussaint for assignment on July 2nd and now have a trade partner for him two days later.
