An offensive explosion from the Braves as they win their 13th straight game. The Braves got after Nationals starter Jackson Tetreault early, scoring 7 of their 10 runs in the first three innings, including a 5 run third inning. The 10-4 Braves win featured every player in the Braves lineup getting a hard hit ball as the team combined for 21 hard hit balls. Tetreault would like to forget this start as he only went 4 innings giving up 9 hits, 3 homers, and 7 earned runs. It didn’t get much better for the Nationals when they turned to the bullpen. Andres Machado gave up 2 homers in his 2 innings of work, Francisco Perez gave up an earned run in his inning of work, and while Reed Garrett didn’t give up any runs in his two innings pitched he did allow 5 hard hit balls. Max Fried picked up the win for the Braves despite not having his best start, he struck out 6 through 5.2 innings but gave up 4 earned runs. However he did gather 12 swings and misses, and relied heavily on his slider which he threw 33% of the time this outing, it had a called strikes plus whiffs percentage of 38%. Jackson Stephens was fantastic in relief for the Braves picking up his second save of the season, putting together 3 innings of 1 hit baseball. The 28 year old righty had a bump in his velocity, he topped out at 96 miles per hour. The bump in velocity paired with his 3000+ rpm curveball could easily turn Stephens into a top option in the Atlanta bullpen. The Nationals offense had a xBA of .201 and only had one extra base hit in the form of a Riley Adams double.
